How to create Paytm account?
- Download Paytm App (Payments,Wallet & Recharge) from play store
- Install it and Tap to accept ,select open to use Paytm App
- Select your language,to create an account,Tap on profile
- Set your paytm account using your Mobile No. & Email ID
- Add some money to your Paytm Wallet using netbanking, debit card, or credit card
Tap on the ‘Add Money’ option on the Paytm app home screen, enter the amount and pay using
Debit/Credit Cards or Net Banking
- To transfer money to someone else,select the 'Pay or Send' option
- You can make payments to others or to bank accounts on Paytm by scanning a QR code
You can simply scan the recipient’s QR code or entering their mobile number in the ‘Pay’ option in
the Paytm app to instantly pay virtually anyone with a smartphone and the Paytm app
- Also, you can send money to Bank
Money stored in the Paytm Wallet can be taken to your bank account. Tap on the ‘Passbook’ icon
in your Paytm app home screen and select ‘Send money to Bank’.Once you tap on the‘Transfer’ button,
please enter the amount, account holder’s name, account number, IFSC Code and press ‘Send’
- You can send money to another Paytm user via their phone number
Paytm forget password- Procedure
- Click on the button that says "forgot password" on your login screen to reset your password.
- Dial 0120-4888488 using the phone number you registered with Paytm,
- Press "1" to reset your password and follow the instructions.
- You will receive a link to reset the password by SMS or email.
- Click on the link paytm sent to your phone or email.
- Enter a new password (which will be remember this time).
- Type the new password in the password field.
- Confirm your new password and click "Submit"
- Start Using it.
Paytm Wallets ?
- You will use your wallet to pay for something or send money to someone
- You should tap ‘pay or send’ on the app
- If paying to someone who has a QR code, scan the code (camera should be enabled), enter the amount,
and you are done - If paying to someone using mobile number, simply enter mobile number and amount
- You will receive an sms and your passbook will show details as well as updated balance every time.
Mobile wallets are pre paid wallets. You can use only what you transfer to it.
How can I add money to my Paytm wallet?
On Paytm
- Log into your Paytm account and click on “Paytm Wallet”
- Enter the amount you want to add and click on “Add Money”
- You can choose to add money via Credit/Debit card, Net Banking, IMPS or ATM card
- If you have any saved credit or debit card, it will be shown upfront and you only need to enter the CVV number and
proceed to the bank page. If you do not have any saved credit or debit card, you can choose to save a card for faster
payment next time. - Once you enter details on your bank’s page & complete the transaction, you will be redirected to Paytm with money
added in your Paytm wallet
On Paytm App-
- You can add money to your Paytm Wallet by selecting the Add Money tab on homepage.
- You can choose to add money via Credit/Debit card, Net Banking, IMPS or ATM card.
- Enter the amount you want to add and tap on “Add Money”.
- You will be redirected to a secure payment page where you need to provide payment details.
- If you have any saved credit or debit card, it will be shown upfront and you just need to enter CVV and proceed to bank page.
If you do not have any saved card you can choose to save a credit or debit card for faster payment next time. - Once you enter details on your bank’s page & complete the transaction, you will be redirected to Paytm with money added in
your Paytm wallet.
What is Paytm Postpaid?
- Paytm Postpaid allows you to buy today and can pay in next month or later.
- You can set up your Paytm Postpaid account through the Profile section on the Paytm App and select it as a payment option
for your purchases on Paytm
Postpaid can be used as the payment mode while booking movie & travel tickets,for mobile recharges and for shopping on Paytm Mall.
Problem faced On Paytm
Recharge Failed/Pending/Processing
- Please check that you are selecting the appropriate valid amount for the respective operator. If number is ported, make sure
that you select circle/operator manually - Recharges also fail due to issues/load at the operator's end, wait for some time and try later
Status shows success but bill payment/recharge not received
- The bill payment takes 3 days to be updated at the operator's end.
- In case of Recharge, please verify the plan whether you have received a special recharge benefit or not. If not, then please write to
Amount Deducted but recharge failed
- If the recharge fails and amount is deducted, Paytm refunds the entire amount of failed recharge back to your Paytm
Wallet within 48 hrs - If you have not paid through Paytm wallet and it has been more than 48 hours since recharge failure, the bank will refund
the amount within 3-10 working days in your bank account/card
Cash back not received
- After any successful transaction, the cash back takes 24 hrs to be credited to your Paytm Wallet

Unable to make transaction through Paytm cash
- Please check your wallet transaction limit as you might have crossed the monthly limit of INR 10000
- If not, then we request you to try again after some time.
- If you are accessing it on Windows App then please upgrade it

Utility Bill Payments
Electricity
- On the Paytm app or website please select the “Electricity” icon
- Please select your “Electricity Board”
- Please enter your “Consumer Number (some boards also call it “CA Number” or “Account Number”) as mentioned
on your Electricity bill - Press “Proceed” to get your bill details
- Verify the displayed bill details and proceed to pay the desired amount
- On the payment page please select the mode of payment and enter the desired details
- Once the payment process is complete we will notify you with the status of your bill payment
- We will also send an SMS & Email confirmation about the status of your bill payment
- Please note that it may take up to 2 business days to process your bill payment by your Electricity provider
Water Board
- On the Paytm app or website please select the “Water” icon
- Please select your “Water Board”
- Please enter your “Consumer Number” (some water boards also call this “K Number”) as mentioned on your Water bill
- Press “Proceed” to get your bill details
- Verify the displayed bill details and proceed to pay the desired amount
- On the payment page please select the mode of payment and enter the desired details
- Once the payment process is complete we will notify you with the status of your bill payment
- We will also notify you by a Push/SMS & Email regarding the status of your bill payment
- Please note that it may take upto 2 business days to process your bill payment by your Water Board
Gas
- On the Paytm app or website please select the “Gas” icon
- Please select your Gas Board
- Please enter your Consumer Number as mentioned on your Gas bill
- Press “Proceed” to get your bill details
- Verify the displayed bill details and proceed to pay the desired amount
- On the payment page please select the mode of payment and enter the desired details
- Once the payment process is complete we will notify you with the status of your bill payment
- We will also notify you by a Push/SMS & Email regarding the status of your bill payment
- Please note that it may take upto 2 business days to process your bill payment by your Gas Board
Metro Card
Delhi/Mumbai Metro-
- On the Paytm app or website please select the ‘Metro’ icon
- Upon reaching Metor page please select your Mumbai/Delhi Metro
- Please enter your Card Number as mentioned on the back of your Card
- Please enter the amount (Note – Card balance cannot exceed Rs 1000 so amount entered should always less than 1000
and in multiple of 100) - Press ‘Proceed’
- On the payment page please select the mode of payment and enter the desired details
- Once the payment process is complete we will notify you with the status of your payment
- We will also notify you by a Push/SMS & Email regarding the status of your payment
- After successful payment, please visit your nearest metro station and tap the card in the AVM machine to recharge your card
Card Number-
- Your card number is 8-10(Delhi Metro) digit number or 5-10(Mumbai Metro) digit number. You can find this card number
at the back of your card
Paytm Seller Registration
- Go to Paytm seller registration
- Provide your name, phone, email and choose a password for the account
- Complete the email verification process
- Complete the mobile number verification process
- Update business information and address
- Provide KYC Documents (More on this below)
- Approve the terms and conditions
- Update your catalog of products
- Begin selling on Paytm

- Name of the Business
- Private Limited Company / Partnership / LLP / Proprietorship

Paytm KYC Procedure
Minimum KYC
As per RBI guidelines,please provide any of the following Documents detail to activate wallet
Select a document to proceed
- Aadhar Card
- Passport
- Voter ID
- Driving Licence
After that
- Enter the Number/Full Name/Expiry Date
- Agree the terms & conditions ,then submit
- Go to the bottom click to complete KYC
Points On Minimum KYC
Minimum KYC allows you partial access to benefits of Paytm Wallet
- Can pay to 12 Million+ Merchants who accept Paytm
- Can pay online on any app/website
- Maintain balance up to ₹10,000 per month
- Cannot send money to a friend's wallet
- Cannot transfer money to the bank
- Cannot keep the balance of up to ₹1,00,000
- Cannot open Savings Account
As per RBI guidelines, Minimum KYC is valid for 18 months only. To get complete benefits of wallet
and to continue usage beyond 18 months, you need to complete your Full KYC.
Full KYC
To become a Full KYC customer, you need to complete in-person verification in any of the following ways

- You become eligible to open Paytm Payments Bank Savings Account
